Lydia Moe

Lydia Moe and her husband have a field with 250 coffee plants in the village of Mileki. This is the fifth year they have had the plants and last year they had a harvest of about 100 kilo. Her husband checks the field two or three times a week. Once a week the plants are watered and the field is cleared of weeds. The water comes from a brook near the field. When the brook is dried out Lydia digs a hole to find water. During the last training meeting she learned that the plants also need compost. She also learned an organic way of controlling the insects that damage the plants. Lydia also translates the Bible into Karen. Lydia's husband is an evangelist.
